Notice is hereby given by the Regional Planning Commission (RPC) of Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Tammany Parishes, and Tangipahoa Parishes (RPC), acting in its capacity as Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Urbanized Areas of Mandeville/Covington and Slidell in St. Tammany Parish, and Hammond/Ponchatoula in Tangipahoa Parish, in conjunction with local transit providers and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD), is proposing its FY 2025 program of projects for St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes.

The apportionments are as follows:

St. Tammany Parish Total:     $3,845,850
Tangipahoa Parish Total:        $1,246,532

Development of projects through the planning process resulted in the following distribution of FTA Section 5307 funds:

St. Tammany Parish

  1. Operating Assistance
    Total Funds:  $1,922,926
    5307:  $961,463
  1. Operating Assistance (Capital Cost of Contracting)
    Total Funds:  $3,605,484
    5307:   $2,884,387

Tangipahoa Parish

  1. Preventative Maintenance
    Total Funds:  $1,558,165
    5307:    $1,246,532

 

This notice is issued to provide an opportunity for interested parties to comment on the above captioned projects.  Comments from private enterprises or social service organizations involved in the provision of transportation or in related fields, with comments concerning the adequacy of the program or expressing interest in participating in various elements of its planning or implementation, are being particularly solicited herein.

This public notice and the time established for review and comment satisfy St. Tammany Parish and Tangipahoa Parish’s requirements for public participation in the development of the FY 2025 Program of Projects and Transportation Improvement Program.

Any evidence, recommendations, or comments may be submitted either orally or in writing before July 08, 2025, to the Regional Planning Commission, 10 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124, Phone: 504-483-8500, Fax 504-483-8526.  The Transportation Policy Committee of the Regional Planning Commission will also receive comments from the public at its regularly scheduled meeting on July 08, 2025. It is anticipated that the projects as advertised herein represent the final version of the fiscal year 2025 Program of Projects.  Should any amendments, additions, or deletions be made to this program based on the public hearing or other comments, said changes will be re-advertised.
